’Would you like me to add that to your basket?’ (2022) is a digital print depicting jade statue recreations of the family seen in the 2016 advert for the Amazon Echo having a séance with the disembodied voice of Alexa communicating through the device. Upon its release, the advert quickly went viral for being particularly ‘annoying’; it showed a family getting an amazon echo in the post and then proceeding to ask it numerous questions, promoting its potential usage. However, the advert resulted in many memes and spoofs being created and circulated on the internet at the time.
