Tim Etchells performs at Festival d'Avignon, FR, running from 7 - 25 July 2023.
Etchells' presents his new performance 'L'Addition', which is performed in French and commissioned by the festival, presented as part of its ‘Itinerance’ initiative in which one project from the festival tours to towns and villages around Avignon, performing in town squares, village halls and courtyards. The new work is a comedy about an accident that won’t stop happening, incorporating light and frothy dramatic material, but pursued to absurd, exacting and exhausting ends. The piece is made with, and performed by, the duo Bert and Nasi, who won the Forced Entertainment Huw Chadbourn Award a few years ago. Music is by Graeme Miller, who also did music for the most recent full-group Forced Entertainment performance Under Bright Light.
